  • Our group’ main focus is making a short two sentence horror game using Unreal Engine 5.

    • Substance Painter

    • Rizom UV

    • zBrush

Modeled, textured, and blueprinted everything shown except the particle effect made by a bp_firefly asset from unreal Fab store.

For the sake of blueprinting, a lot of the assets I made is like the office box I have shown where there are different parts separated to make up one object. I chose some of my favorites I made to show here. I hope to update them into one mesh when i get the chance later.

Concept Design

The game takes place in a rural town in Japan and the main character is around late middle school age. With that in mind, I focused on bringing an aged room with some elements of early girlhood.

I made a rough of the room for scale and modeling purposes.

Mystwood Blightbreaker

Join the wizard on his adventure to protect his home from the mad king and save the forest life!

This game is a 2.5D cozy magical combat match-3 game based in Unity.

  • School project group made up of four members collaborating for their Spring semester in the Game Project Class at CSUN.

Kylie Okazaki: UX/UI, Map Assets (2D Sprites, Tile Map, and VFX), Project Management, Character Design

    Angie : Programmer, UX/UI, Background

Sona Arutunian: Character Design, Prop Design, Story Animation

Oscar Noguez Chavez: Writer, Character Designer, Story animation, Loading Screen

Mattix : Composer and Sound Design

  • Our group’s main focus is making a vertical slice by the end of the Spring Semester.

The project prompt our group focused on was a game that teaches the players about the damage people can do to environmental ecosystems and why we should protect it.

    • Clipstudio Paint

    • Texture Packer

    • Unreal Engine 5 (early demo stages before switching to unity)

UX/UI

Dabbled in 2D asset and sprite creation with this project. My main job was creating them for the UI in the game.

I also got to have a hand in designing the cursed versions of the game characters. Due to time constraints, we ended up focusing on one spirit instead of making more finalized versions which is shown on the right.

Map Mode

I did the blueprinting and the map assets in this test run when our group was deciding between Unreal, Unity, and Godot.

Used the PaperZD plugin for the 8 walking directions and unlit material.

Sona Arutunian: Mage design and walking animation Sprite

Oscar Noguez Chavez: Bellflower design and hovering animation

Mattix : Composer and Sound Design

Blueprinting for triggering the walking and idle animations.

Since the main goal/quest of the game is to restore the forest to its formal glory and save it from the Mad King, I made a progress bar that will be shown while the player moves around in the map area shown in the gameplay video example shown above.
